Authorities in Uzbekistan's Ferghana region plan to launch new chemical industry projects based on the experience of the Chirchiq Chemical Industrial Technopark following a visit by regional officials to the industrial site.

The initiative forms part of efforts to implement instructions issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting on 2 June focused on accelerating the development of the chemical industry, attracting investment and launching new regional projects. The meeting took place during the president's visit to the Chirchiq Chemical Industrial Technopark.

On 4 June, Ferghana regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov and other officials visited the technopark and reviewed the operations of resident enterprises.

The Chirchiq Chemical Industrial Technopark was established under a presidential decree issued on 3 February 2022. The facility is focused on deep processing of chemical products, production of high value-added goods, introduction of modern technologies and attraction of investors.

US$25 million was invested in engineering and utility infrastructure across the site's 26.4-hectare territory. In 2025, the technopark attracted US$56 million in investment and created 758 jobs. Resident companies currently manufacture more than 150 types of products, while total output has exceeded US$60 million.

Further expansion of the technopark is planned. By 2030, total investment is expected to reach US$207 million, production volume is projected to increase to US$294 million, exports are targeted at US$48 million and employment is expected to rise to 2,300 jobs.

Following the visit, officials identified measures to implement new investment projects in Ferghana region and establish production facilities focused on high value-added chemical products.
