Uzbekistan and India Expand Pharma Sector Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held on 23 April 2026 between Abdulloh Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, and an Indian delegation, focusing on expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

During the talks, the Uzbek side presented information on the current state and development dynamics of the country’s pharmaceutical industry. It was noted that the sector has demonstrated steady growth in recent years, supported by the implementation of large-scale projects within the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster (Bio Pharma City).

The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in several key areas, including the localization of pharmaceutical production, implementation of joint investment projects, and exchange of experience in pharmaceutical market regulation and product quality control.

Special attention was given to expanding trade and economic cooperation and creating conditions for deeper collaboration between enterprises of both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of Uzbekistan and India expressed their readiness to further develop partnership relations and implement joint initiatives in the pharmaceutical industry.
