Uzbekistan and Serbia Discuss Expansion of Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić on 6 May, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding practical engagement between the two countries.
The sides discussed prospects for intensifying political dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, promoting investment projects, and developing cooperation in transport, industry, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
During the talks, both sides emphasized the importance of systematic cooperation between their foreign ministries and further development of mechanisms for political consultations. Special attention was given to advancing new joint initiatives aimed at expanding the partnership.
The ministers also reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and discussed the execution of tasks set by the leadership of both states. Preparations for upcoming high-level visits were also addressed.
Saidov noted that Serbia is viewed by Uzbekistan as a reliable partner in Europe, adding that the current momentum in relations lays the groundwork for elevating bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
