Uzbekistan Wins Four Medals at Junior Weightlifting Worlds
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The junior national weightlifting team of Uzbekistan has concluded the World Weightlifting Championships in Ismailia, Egypt, with a total of four medals, including one silver and three bronze.
The final medals for the team were earned by Omadillo Olimov, who competed in the over-110 kg weight category.
In the final day of competition, Olimov placed fourth in the snatch with a lift of 169 kg. In the clean and jerk, he successfully lifted 219 kg, bringing his combined total to 388 kg.
Based on his results across the individual disciplines and the overall total, the Uzbek athlete secured bronze medals, contributing to the team’s overall medal count.
Earlier in the tournament, Uzbekistan’s junior squad had already added one silver and two bronze medals to its tally.
With these results, the Uzbek team finished the championship with four medals of different categories.
