Saida Mirziyoyeva Visits Renovated Puppet Theatre
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva visited the Uzbek National Puppet Theatre in Tashkent, where she reviewed the results of the first stage of reconstruction and attended a performance of “Kalif-the-Stork” based on a fairy tale by German writer Wilhelm Hauff.
According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, the story remains one of the favourite fairy tales for many generations, addressing themes of inner trial and the search for one’s own path.
She noted that following the completion of the first stage of reconstruction, the theatre has resumed receiving audiences. Performances are already being staged on its stage, with children and families once again gathering in its halls.
Particular attention during the renovation was given to preserving the building’s historical and cultural heritage. Elements of the “Fairy-Tale City” complex, cast-iron doors of the auditorium, figures of musicians with karnays, unique glass ceiling fixtures, façade compositions and mosaics were restored.
Saida Mirziyoyeva underlined the importance of preserving traditions of puppet theatre, highlighting the special role of theatrical puppetry in the upbringing and development of children.
“The puppet remains the best mediator in a dialogue with children, helping to speak in an accessible language about important issues such as freedom, responsibility, strength and friendship,” the head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan said.
