Uzbekistan, Hong Kong Discuss Expanding Investment Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Hong Kong discussed expanding investment cooperation during a business briefing and roundtable held as part of a visit by Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee’s delegation to Uzbekistan.
The events were organised by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and brought together representatives of the Hong Kong business community.
The meetings were attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Head of the ministry Ilzat Kasimov.
More than 120 representatives of leading Hong Kong companies operating in industry, finance, logistics, information technology and construction took part in the discussions.
The Uzbek side presented information on ongoing economic reforms, investment potential and state support measures for businesses in the country.
It was noted that Uzbekistan continues to create favourable conditions for foreign investors and is expanding opportunities for international cooperation.
During the roundtable, the sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, strengthening financial cooperation and implementing joint investment projects.
At the conclusion of the events, both sides confirmed their interest in further increasing mutual investment and developing long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.
