Serbia Reaffirms Commitment to Expanding Uzbekistan Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during an official visit of a parliamentary delegation to Serbia.

During the meeting, the Serbian leader conveyed his sincere greetings to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and noted the steady development of bilateral relations based on mutual trust and friendship.

The two sides discussed further strengthening political dialogue at the highest level, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and implementing promising joint projects.

Special attention was given to cooperation in textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, tourism, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, and energy.

President Vučić praised the reforms underway in Uzbekistan and the country’s pace of socio-economic development, saying that Uzbekistan is among the most dynamically developing states in the Eurasian region.

The meeting also highlighted the active participation of the Uzbek delegation in Inter-Parliamentary Union events in Belgrade. The Serbian president stressed the importance of expanding interparliamentary contacts as a key factor in strengthening interstate cooperation.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their interest in further developing Uzbekistan–Serbia relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across all key areas.
