Uzbekistan concludes WTO accession talks with India

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has completed negotiations with India on its accession to the World Trade Organization, according to the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on WTO matters, Azizbek Urunov.

He said the parties signed a protocol on the completion of negotiations on market access issues.

Agreements in this area were initially reached in 2024.

Urunov noted that additional efforts were required to coordinate technical details and finalize the text of the protocol. He added that India took a constructive position during discussions on market access issues.

The presidential representative also expressed gratitude to the Indian side for its support of Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization.

According to the statement, the Uzbek delegation will shortly submit one original copy of the signed protocol to the WTO Secretariat for inclusion in the organization’s official compilation.
