Uzbekistan, SCO Discuss Preparations for Bishkek Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov held talks with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev in Beijing on 4 June 2026.

The discussions focused on preparations for the upcoming SCO Heads of State Summit, which will take place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan under the slogan “25 years of the SCO: Together towards sustainable peace, development and prosperity.”

The two sides also exchanged views on the prospects for further development of the organisation, new areas of cooperation, the work of the SCO Secretariat, and documents currently under preparation.

Particular attention was given to the implementation of initiatives and proposals put forward by Uzbekistan within the SCO framework.

The sides reviewed progress on these initiatives and discussed further steps to advance the joint agenda within the organisation.
