Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Pakistan have discussed expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation during a meeting held on 14 May at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade with representatives of the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

During the talks, the Pakistani delegation received detailed information on the conditions created in Uzbekistan for foreign investors, including existing tax and customs incentives, the development of modern industrial infrastructure, and mechanisms for protecting business rights and interests.

Representatives of the Pakistani side noted the steady growth of economic ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in recent years.

The parties identified the textile and leather industries, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food production, and the electrical engineering sector as priority areas for future joint projects.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed on a number of practical steps aimed at increasing bilateral trade and moving toward the implementation of concrete investment initiatives in the identified sectors.
